Web Developer Position - Madison, WI

Herkimer, a Madison-based Web development firm, is seeking a Drupal or experienced PHP Web Developer.

We work on a wide range of projects in many industries (in different corners of the world, too) so the ideal candidate will be versatile and thrive on a diverse project-load.

Working at Herkimer will stretch your coding, creative, and troubleshooting abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of sites using D6 and D7 (theming, configuration, and back-end coding)
  • Custom module building
  • Enjoy working as part of a team or solo
  • Produce thoughtful code, with ample comments
  • Relentlessly identify better ways of building a better mousetrap

Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Skilled with programming in PHP [ this is a firm requirement ]
  • Fluid knowledge of CSS/XHTML layout with JQuery
  • Must be able to accurately assess project requirements, and complete work based on assessments in a timely fashion
  • Candidates proficient with Drupal module-authoring will be given special consideration

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Salaried position - $40k to $70k depending on experience

Front-End Web Developer Position - Madison, WI

Herkimer Media is seeking a full-time Front End Web Developer for our Marketing team.

A successful Front End Developer will already know some HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. We will help you to hone and implement these skills within the Drupal Content Management System.

The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and expand their skillset while working with the Herkimer team. Qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Use front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, PHP and JavaScript to build interactive, responsive pages
  • Work within content management system to update, add and refine content as needed
  • Customer support and training as needed
  • Work in a team to develop strategies and improvements
  • Insert customer content and perform basic Search Engine Optimization tasks
  • Work within Drupal and some basic HTML sites to update client content

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of front-end development experience, equivalent education experience considered for motivated applicants
  • Basic proficiency in standard front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Intermediate understanding of PHP
  • Clean coding practices with markup

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Responsive Design
  • Experience with Drupal CMS
